Basic properties and hazards | |
Basic properties | Powder or granules of green colour, soluble in water. Nonvolatile. Water and acids can decompose to form toxic and flammable gases. Corrosive. Pollutes water resources. |
Explosion and fire | Hardly flammable. Upon contact with the flame, forms toxic gases (cyan, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, fluorine compounds, etc.) |
The risk to humans | May lead to death (at intake)! The chemical is harmful if inhaled and swallowed (mouth, nose and throat burning, metallic taste, nausea, vomiting, general weakness; in severe cases of poisoning — gasp, fainting, seizures), if in contact with skin (redness, dryness, itching) and if in contact with the eyes (pain and tears). Possible chemical burns. In case of Toxic properties are due to the presence of soluble trivalent chromium and similar in action hromammoniya sulfate (alum hromammiachnyh by Cr3+). |
