Ammonium chloride technical
Application
Ammonium chloride is used in technical and machinery engineering,
Safety requirements
Ammonium chloride technical is fire and explosion safe with a level of toxicity — 3.
Packing
Ammonium chloride technical is usually packed in four-, five-,
It is allowed to pack the product in special soft disposable containers.
Transportation, storage
Ammonium chloride technical gets transported by all means of transport (except by air) but should be kept in covered vehicles. The product packed in special soft containers gets transported by train in open carriages without reloading on the way.
Ammonium chloride technical is usually stored in a closed warehouse protected from moisture. The area where the bags are placed, must be free of protruding or sharp objects which could puncture the bags.
It is allowed to store ammonium chloride packed in special soft containers outdoors.
Shelflife
1 year from a manufacturing date.

Basic properties and hazards
Basic properties | Granules of white colour with a shade of yellow and pink, no odor. It is soluble in water. The product gets transported in a solid condition. |
Explosion and fire | |
The risk to humans | Harmful if in contact with skin and eyes. The product moderately irritates the human skin and mucous membranes of the eyes. In case of fire the product can cause burns. During the production process of ammonium chloride a toxic substance gets released. It is called gaseous ammonia (danger level 4), that causes irritation of the upper respiratory tract, eyes, and mucous membranes of the nose at low concentration, and excites the central nervous system at high concentration. The product with an anticonglomerating agent — a synthetic mixture of aliphatic amines — is |
Individual protection means | A military protective suit In case of fire — fire resistant suit, in a kit with When finished work the employers must have a shower. |
Necessary steps in case of emergency
General | Drive the carriage into a safe place. Isolate the zone of danger in the radius not less than 100 m. Do some adjustments to the distance after a comlete check of the level of pollution. Any outsiders should be asked to leave the zone of danger. Comply with fire safety measures. Do not smoke. Any injured person should receive the first aid. |
Leakage, spilling and placer | Report to TSSEN. Do not touch the spilled substance. Do not allow the dangerous substance to get into water supplies, basements, sewerage. |
In case of fire |
A person entering the zone of accident must wear protective clothing and breathing apparatus. Extinguish from a maximum range by water mist, |
Neutralization | The deposit must be sprinkled with dry sand or other inert material. Call the experts for neutralization. |
First aid | Call the ambulance. Fresh air, relaxation, warm, clean clothes. The skin and mucous membranes should be washed with water. |
